Fixed length files can be combined, sorted and merged. A sequence number (unique value) can be added to a fixed length data file based on the contents of a field. Input and output records are limited to a maximum of 64,000 characters.
For fixed length files, select the file type of Fixed length and one of the following options:
Combine/Sort to combine multiple files, sort and apply duplicate filters.
Merge Files to merge two sorted files based on matching key values.
Sequence to add a sequence number to a fixed length data file based on the contents of a field and to produce a frequency listing of the field values.
To quit or exit, select the Close button.
