About
 Data Files and Formats
	- WinCross can process the following
	 types of data:

	- ASCII format (fixed, comma separated
	 *.csv
	 and tab separated *.tsv
	 or *.tab)

	- SPSS® (*.sav)

	- Microsoft® Office Excel formats (*.xls and *.xlsx)

	- For ASCII-fixed data files, WinCross
permits a maximum of 131,072 characters per respondent and up to 800
records per respondent as long as the total characters do not exceed
	 131,072.

	- ASCII format (fixed, comma separated
	 *.csv
	 and tab separated *.tsv
	 or *.tab)
or Microsoft Excel data can be converted to SPSS (*.sav)
	 format using File|Export
	 Wizard.

	- All respondents must have the same
number of records and all records must be in the same order for all
	 respondents.

	- All
variable-type data files have a 1,048,000 record limit.

	- Variables in Excel and SPSS files
should be numeric or strings (for example, no currency-type or formula-defined
variables). Date-type variables are acceptable. The imported date
format will display in the data grid, however, internally, WinCross
converts all date variables to the format dd-mm-yyyy for processing.

	- Variable names cannot use spaces,
	 commas or WinCross
Reserved Key Words such as NET, MEAN
	 or SUB.

	- Code values can be alphanumeric,
negative numbers and decimal numbers. Code
values should not contain special characters (for example, @,
	 #,
	 &,
	 !,
	 ^,
	 /,
	 -,
	 etc.).

	- WinCross allows long-character filenames
having lengths up to 255 characters, including spaces, multiple periods
and other characters (excluding colons, quotation marks, slashes,
question marks, asterisks, angle brackets and pipe symbols). For example,
	 The
	 TLC-X Project.ORG.JOB is a valid filename.
