Job
Settings|Small Sample Size
In Setup|Job
Settings, you can specify options for suppressing/denoting cells and
statistics based on limits you assign using the Small
Sample Size tab.
Note: WinCross
uses the unrounded number when determining if a value meets the
threshold for "less than" the specified value. For example,
If the actual value is 2.999 and WinCross rounds this value to
3.0 based on displaying only one decimal, the rounded 3.0 will
be denoted/suppressed as "less than" 3. |
Column
display suppression
- Choose Suppress
display of column values when the: if you want to suppress
values based on the Frequency
or Horizontal percent total
for each banner column.
- Choose Denote
column values when the: if you want to denote values based
on the Frequency or Horizontal percent total for each
banner column. Values will shown and denoted with the character(s)
specified in Text to add to suppressed/denoted
cells.
- Frequency
(base) - Suppresses/denotes all cells for a banner column
when the total Frequency
(or base) for that column is less than the value specified in
is less than. The
Frequency for the banner
column will not be suppressed/denoted. Only the cells under the column
meeting the limit specified will be suppressed/denoted. The character(s)
specified in Text to add to
suppressed/denoted cells will display in place of (suppressed)
or with (denoted) the original value.
- Effective
sample size - Suppresses/denotes all cells for a banner
column when the total Effective
sample size for that column is less than the value specified
in is less than.
The Effective sample size
(if displayed) for the banner column will not be suppressed/denoted.
Only the cells under the column meeting the limit specified will be
suppressed/denoted. The character(s) specified in Text
to add to suppressed/denoted cells will display in place
of (suppressed) or with (denoted) the original value.
Note: Effective
sample size is only applicable for weighted tables. |
- Horizontal
percent - Suppresses/denotes all cells for a banner column
when the total Horizontal
percent for that column is less than the value specified
in is less than.
The Horizontal percent
for the banner column will not be suppressed/denoted. Only the
cells under the column meeting the limit specified will be suppressed/denoted.
The character(s) specified in Text
to add to suppressed/denoted cells will display in place
of (suppressed) or with (denoted) the original value.
Cell display
suppression
- Choose Suppress
display of a cell value when the: if you want to suppress values
based on the Frequency, Vertical percent, Horizontal
percent or Constant percent
of a table cell.
- Choose Denote
a cell value when the: if you want to denote values based on
the Frequency, Vertical
percent, Horizontal percent
or Constant percent of a table
cell. Values will shown and denoted with the character(s) specified
in Text to add to suppressed/denoted
cells.
- Frequency
- Suppresses/denotes any cell when the Frequency
for that cell is less than the value specified in is less than. The character(s)
specified in Text to add to
suppressed/denoted cells will display in place of (suppressed)
or with (denoted) the original value.Vertical
percent - Suppresses/denotes any cell when the
- Vertical
percent for that cell is less than the value specified
in is less than.
The character(s) specified in Text
to add to suppressed/denoted cells will display in
place of (suppressed) or with (denoted) the original value.
- Horizontal
percent - Suppresses/denotes any cell when the
Horizontal percent for
that cell is less than the value specified in
is less than. The character(s) specified in Text to add to suppressed/denoted cells
will display in place of (suppressed) or with (denoted)
the original value.
- Constant
percent - Suppresses/denotes any cell when the
Constant percent for
that cell is less than the value specified in is
less than. The character(s) specified in Text to add to suppressed/denoted cells
will display in place of (suppressed) or with (denoted)
the original value.
Show
suppression text for blank cells -
Include blank cells when evaluating Column display suppression and Cell display suppression. Blank cells will only be suppressed/denoted
when this option is selected.
Text
to add to suppressed/denoted cells -
Specify up to three characters to display in suppressed/denoted cells
based on banner column or cell limits. # is
the default Text to add to suppressed/denoted cells.
Show
footnote regarding suppressed display -
Choose this option to display a footnote describing the cell suppression
specifications. The default is to display the footnote. For example, if
your suppression specifications are based on the Frequency for a cell being less than 20 and the
Text to display in suppressed cells is
a # character, the following
footnote will display: "#"
denotes a cell value which was suppressed because its frequency was less
than 20.
If
weighted, use unweighted base -
Choose this option to supress based off the unweighted base instead of
the weighted base.
Column
testing suppression - Choose Suppress
statistical testing on a column when the: if you want to suppress
significance indicators based on the Frequency
or Horizontal percent total for
each banner column.
- Frequency
- Suppresses all significance indicators for a banner column
when the total Frequency
(or base) for that column is less than the value specified in
is less than. The
Frequency for the banner
column will not be suppressed. Only the significance indicators under
the column meeting the suppression limit specified will be suppressed.
The character(s) specified in Text
to display in suppressed cells will display in place
of the significance indicators.
- Effective
sample size - Suppresses all significance indicators
for a banner column when the total Effective
sample size for that column is less than the value specified
in is less than.
The Effective sample size
(if displayed) for the banner column will not be suppressed/denoted.
Only the significance indicators under the column meeting the limit
specified will be suppressed. The character(s) specified in Text to display in suppressed cells
will display in place of the significance indicators.
Note: Effective
sample size is only applicable for weighted tables. |
- Horizontal
percent - Suppresses all significance indicators for
a banner column when the Horizontal
percent for that column is less than the value specified
in is less than.
The Horizontal percent
for the banner column will not be suppressed. Only the significance
indicators under the column meeting the suppression limit specified
will be suppressed. The character(s) specified in Text
to display in suppressed cells will display in place
of the significance indicators.
Cell testing
suppression - Choose Suppress
statistical testing on a cell value when the: if you want to suppress
values based on the Frequency,
Vertical percent or Horizontal
percent of a table cell.
- Frequency
- Suppresses all significance indicators for a cell when the
total Frequency (or
base) for that cell is less than the value specified in is less than. The character(s)
specified in Text to display
in suppressed cells will display in place of the significance
indicators.
- Vertical
percent - Suppresses all significance indicators for
a cell when the Vertical percent
for that cell is less than the value specified in is less than. The character(s)
specified in Text to display
in suppressed cells will display in place of the significance
indicators.
- Horizontal
percent - Suppresses all significance indicators for
a cell when the Horizontal
percent for that cell is less than the value specified
in is less than.
The character(s) specified in Text
to display in suppressed cells will display in place
of the significance indicators.
Text
to display in suppressed cells -
Specify up to three characters to display in suppressed cells based on
banner column or cell limits. # is
the default Text to display in suppressed cells.
Show
footnote regarding suppressed testing -
Choose this option to display a footnote describing the cell suppression
specifications. The default is to display the footnote. For example, if
your suppression specifications are based on the Frequency for a cell being less than 20 and the
Text to display in suppressed cells is
a # character, the following
footnote will display: "#"
denotes a cell for which statistical testing was suppressed because its
frequency was less than 20.
If
weighted, use unweighted base -
Choose this option to supress significance testing based off the unweighted
base instead of the weighted base.
