Save Data

Save
Data lets you save the currently open data file. Alternatively,
you can select F11 to save the
 open data file.

ASCII fixed (*) data files
Data files
must be opened in edit mode to make changes and save the data file. Disabling
the Read only option on the Open Data
dialog opens the data file in edit mode.

Other data files
All other data files are automatically opened
in edit mode. Changes made to the currently open data file will be saved.

All data files
	- The original data file will be backed
	 up with a *.bak extension.

	- The newly saved data file will automatically
	 reopen in WinCross.

	- There is only one backup file created
per session regardless of the number of times you open and edit the
data file during that WinCross session.

	- If you open the same data file in
a new WinCross session, a new backup file is created and will replace
an existing backup file. For example, if you open, edit and save Example.sav, an
Example.sav.bak is created in the same directory where the
original data file exists. If you end the WinCross session and then
start a new WinCross session and open, edit and save Example.sav
	 again, the Example.sav.bak
backup file that exists from the earlier WinCross session will be
	 replaced with the new Example.sav.bak.
