WinCross allows for calculating outliers based off a specified standard deviation or mean. Calculate Outliers can be found under the Tools menu.
With a data file open go to Tools | Calculate Outliers
Select the variable(s) to be used and then select Add to List.
WinCross default setting is 3 standard deviations, but this can be changed based on your needs under the standard deviation column.
Options
Use Glossary Transformations applies and glossary statements to your data file. When this is unchecked, no transformations are made.
Outlier assignment value allows the user to substitute a value for outliers.
By default, outliers are assigned a missing value.
When the outlier assignment value is used you can easily filter to just your outliers using the new value.
Run Mode
Run report only provides a summary of outliers across each variable selected.
Run report and save data provides a summary of outliers across each variable as well as overwrites or creates new variables with the outliers removed.
Variable
Overwrite will replace existing data with outliers removed. Outliers will be given a missing value, or if provided the outlier assignment value.
New creates new variables with outliers removed leaving existing variables untouched.
When creating new variables Prefix adds a label before the variable name.

Output = Q1_Out
Weight applies the desired weight when added.
Run Filter reduces the sample size. Respondents that do not meet the weight can also be written to the data file using write all cases to file option.
