Job Settings|Page
Layout
In Setup|Job
Settings, you can specify page layout and page numbering options using
the Page Layout tab.
Note: Selecting File|PageLayout: Plain
Text Reports, File|Page Layout:
Enhanced Text Reports redirects you to
the
Job Settings|Page
Layout
tab
where you can specify the page layout settings for either type
of report. |
Enhanced
text reports
- Left
margin (inches) - Specifies the left margin in inches.
- Top
margin (inches) - Specifies the top margin in inches.
- Right
margin (inches) - Specifies the right margin in inches.
- Bottom
margin (inches) - Specifies the bottom margin in inches.
- Wrap
any wide tables onto the next page of the report without reducing
the font size (WinCross default) - Tables are not resized and
will use the font size(s) selected using the Setup|Job Settings|Enhanced
Text Reports tab.
Note: Table
resizing options that reduce the font size apply only
when Enhanced text reports
are saved to *.pdf and *.rtf report files. |
- Reduce
the font size in ALL tables to ensure that the widest tables will
fit (If this is not possible, tables will be wrapped) - All
tables will be resized by the same amount and have the same font size,
if possible. For example, if you are running two banners in the same
run and tables run by the first banner need to be shrunk to fit on
the page and tables run by the second banner will fit on the page
without shrinking, both reports will be shrunk and have the same font
size, if possible. If the banner is still too wide to fit on one page
after the font size has been reduced, the font size(s) selected in
Setup|Job
Settings|Enhanced Text Reports will be respected and all
tables will be wrapped.
- Reduce
the font size of ONLY those tables that exceed the page width (If
this is not possible, tables will be wrapped) - Resizes only
those tables that will not fit on the page, if possible. For example,
if you are running two banners in the same run and tables run by the
first banner need to be shrunk to fit on the page and tables run by
the second banner will fit on the page without shrinking, your report
will have two different font sizes. The font size for the table run
by the first banner will be smaller because the table was shrunk to
fit on the page. The font size for the table run by the second banner
will not need to be reduced because the table fit on the page. If
the banner is still too wide to fit on one page after the font size
has been reduced, the font size(s) selected in Setup|Job Settings|Enhanced
Text Reports will be respected and all tables will be wrapped.
Plain text reports
The most recently selected font settings are always
in effect until you make a different selection. The Plain
text report (*.rpt) is
saved as an ASCII text file. When you print the file from other software
(external to WinCross), the font settings are not included unless you
save the report as an Microsoft Word/Rich Text Format (*.rtf),
Microsoft PowerPoint (*.pptx)
or Adobe PDF (*.pdf) file using
File|Save|Save
Report As.
- Left
margin (inches) - Specifies the left margin in inches. WinCross
will automatically adjust the bottom and right margins based on your
choice of font, orientation, report width and lines per page.
- Top
margin (inches) - Specifies the top margin in inches. WinCross
will automatically adjust the bottom and right margins based on your
choice of font, orientation, report width and lines per page.
- Report
width (characters) - Specifies the report width for plain text
reports.
Use
the following formula to help with determining the Report
width for your
printed report:
Report
width = # of banner columns X width of each column (including
the space in between) + Row width
(specified in Setup|Job
Settings|Table Presentation). |
- Lines
per page - Specifies the lines per page for plain text reports.
- Select
Font - Specifies the Font
type, Font style, Size,
Effects and Color
for plain text reports. The selected font is used for printing using
File|Print
or File|Print
Preview.
Note: WinCross will not allow a larger font
than the report width and lines
per page allow. The maximum
Report width allowed
for Plain text reports is 250. |
Shared
report settings
- Number
continuously throughout - Starts the first
table with page 1 and sequentially numbers each subsequent page.
- Restart
numbering with each table - Starts each
table with page number 1. If you select this option, you cannot
use the Page
numbering override setting in Run|Tables.
- Orientation
- Specifies Landscape or Portrait page orientation for both
report types. The Orientation
setting here toggles with the Orientation
setting for File|Printer
Setup. When you change the Orientation
setting on one dialog, it also changes it on the other dialog.
