When an SPSS data file is opened and WinCross detects one or more variables with differing Print and Write formats (Width, Decimals or Format) and there are LOC+ instructions or record/column logic in the open job file, you will receive the following warning dialog.
The SPSS Print Width is the equivalent of the WinCross Field Width and the SPSS Write Width is the equivalent of the WinCross Export Width.
Previous versions of WinCross used the SPSS Write Format for determining the width and format of a variable. WinCross now uses the SPSS Print Format for this purpose. As a result, your job may contain position-sensitive logic that was based on the Write Width, while WinCross now uses the Print Width.
Adjust Widths and Save
Choose Adjust Widths and Save to automatically adjust the Print Widths in the data file to match the Write Widths. WinCross will make the necessary adjustments and save and reload the data file. This option allows your job to process as previously processed without having to adjust any LOC+ or record/column logic.
Cancel
Choose Cancel if you prefer to check your job file and make the corrections manually. You can manually adjust the Print Width (Field Width in WinCross) and/or the Write Width (Export Width in WinCross) using the Variables tab of the data grid.
