Upload
Files can be uploaded to a selected folder in the Folders and files tree of My Drive.
- To upload files, you can either drag files into the panel on the Upload dialog or select Browse for Files to locate a specific file path.
- The selected files appear in a list on the Upload dialog.
- Choose Upload to upload the selected files for use in WinCross Executive.
- The files are added under the selected folder in the Folders and Files tree.
- You can also clear a selected file, by clicking the Remove icon listed to the right of each file name on the Upload dialog.
- A data file (*.sav) is not completely uploaded until the File status shown in the File information window is "Ready".
- Once a data file has been uploaded, it can be used as a Dataset with Variables, Datasets, Create Components from Variables, Create Crosstabs from Components, Create Charts from Crosstabs, Create Reports from Crosstabs, Create Dashboards from Crosstabs, Charts or Quick Counts.
Data file versus dataset: WinCross Executive makes a distinction between a "data file" and a "dataset". "Data file" refers to data in its conventional format: as a disk file with a file extension, such as *.sav. "Dataset" refers to that same data after it has been converted for use with WinCross Executive. Once variables are edited (or deleted) in WinCross Executive, the dataset differs from the data file. To revert to the original data file (variable structure), the Regenerate Dataset option on the My Drive menu can be used. To create a new data file from a modified dataset, the Export Dataset option on the Datasets dialog can be used. |
- You cannot upload files to a folder that was shared to you unless you were given Write privileges by the Owner of this folder.
- Folders cannot be uploaded.
