The Data tab lets you add, insert and delete variables. You can:
Add a new variable(s) by right-clicking on any column header on the Data tab and selecting Add Variables. You are prompted to enter:
Insert a new variable(s) by right-clicking on a column header and selecting Insert Variables. The new variable(s) is inserted before the highlighted column and added with a default variable name (for example, VAR00104) and populated with system-missing values for all records for the new variable. If non-contiguous variables are selected, Insert Variables will insert the number of variables specified to the left of the first highlighted variable. You are prompted to enter:
The number of new variables to insert.
Delete a variable or group of variables by highlighting the column(s) you want to delete, right-clicking and selecting Mark Selected Variables for Deletion. The variables are marked for deletion when you save the data file using the Save Data toolbar button or File|Save|Save Data or File|Save|Save Data As.
