You can modify settings for the currently selected table using Setup|Tables. Being more inclusive, Setup|Globally Modify Tables menu options lets you add, remove or modify most settings for any or all existing tables. For example, you may have created several tables before you realized you did not include a particular table option. Using Setup|Globally Modify Tables menu options, you could easily add the option to every table, then, run your tables again.
Setup|Globally Modify Tables lets you add, remove or modify options for any or all currently created tables. The Globally Modify Tables options are useful for changing existing settings.
You can also use the Globally Modify Tables options as a shortcut, particularly if you want the same options for all tables. For example, you could set up your table rows for all tables and not specify any options. Then, you could use Globally Modify Tables to specify all table options, statistics and filters.
Globally Modify Tables|Table Options is identical to Table Options in Setup|Tables.
Tables
Each table you have created is listed within the Tables list, from which you can select any number of tables. To select contiguous tables, hold the left mouse button down while dragging the pointer across all desired tables. To select non-contiguous tables, depress and hold the Ctrl key while selecting each table in succession.
Select All
Choose this option to select all tables.
Deselect All
Choose this option to clear all selected tables.
Add to existing settings
Adds any options you have chosen within the Globally Modify Table Options dialog box to the selected tables. Any previously chosen settings remain in effect.
Remove from existing settings
Removes any options you have chosen within the Globally Modify Table Options dialog box from the selected tables. Any other previously chosen settings remain in effect.
Replace existing settings
Creates an entirely new set of options for the selected tables, thereby overriding previously chosen settings.
IMPORTANT: Use the Replace existing settings option with care, for any previously chosen options are replaced with these new settings. |
Globally Modify Tables|Table Statistics is identical to Statistics in Setup|Tables.
Note: The Select rows, if any to exclude from statistics option is not available when using Globally Modify Tables|Table Statistics. |
