Edit Dashboard

Edit Dashboard allows you to build your dashboard. You can add Crosstabs, Charts, Reports, Images, Labels and Dynamic Datapoints to your dashboard and use the edit options available for each object on the dashboard.

 

Add Item

  • Click on the Add Item tab to choose objects (Crosstabs, Charts, Reports, Images, Labels, and Dynamic Datapoints) for your dashboard.
  • Select the tab  for the type of object you want to add to your dashboard to display a list of available objects.
  • Select an object from the list and drag it to the desired position on the dashboard.

 

Manage Filters

  • Base Filter logic can be assigned using the WinCross Executive logic syntax rules. The Base Filter cannot be changed at dashboard run time and is saved with the dashboard.
  • User Filters allow for you to add filters to your dashboard that can be changed on the fly. You are able to adjust these filters when running the dashboard and then refreshing once a filter has been selected.
    • The Show advanced filter check box allows you to specify whether the advanced filter will display on the dashboard once the dashboard is run. The dashboard user will be able to enter filter logic using WinCross Executive logic syntax rules. The logic entered for the advanced filter is not saved with the dashboard.
    • The Show simple filter(s) check box allows you to specify whether the simple filter will display on the dashboard once the dashboard is run. The dashboard user will be able to select the values for inclusion from the dropdown list of values. The values selected from the dropdown list of simple filters are not saved with the dashboard.
      • Simple filters can be added using the Add option. The Add Simple Filter(s) dialog lets you choose from a list of Components from the linked dataset.
      • Simple filters can be deleted using the Delete option. Enable the check boxes next to the variable names for those Components you want to delete.
      • When the show simple filter(s) box is unchecked the dashboard will not show the simple filters. Simpyl recheck this box to add them back to your dashboard.

 

Properties

  • The Properties tab allows you to customize specific elements of the dashboard.
    • Themes
      • When the dashboard is selected you have the ability to change the theme of the entire dashboard. This will change all elements to have the selected theme.
      • If instead you only want to change a specific theme i.e. a single Crosstab or Chart select the item to be changed and adjust the theme for this specific item.

 

Add Item - Crosstabs

  • Under the Crosstabs tab you will see the Crosstabs you have associated with the active data set.
  • Drag and drop a Crosstab to the desired location of the dashboard
  • Once added you can further adjust the width and height by dragging the edge, or corner of the crosstab.
  • You also have the option to create a new Crosstab which after entering a name you will be taken to the Edit Crosstab screen.

 

Add Item - Charts

  • Under the Charts tab you will see the Charts you have associated with the active data set.
  • Drag and drop a Chart to the desired location of the dashboard
  • Once added you can further adjust the width and height by dragging the edge, or corner of the chart.
  • You also have the option to create a new Chart which after entering a name you will be taken to the Edit Chart screen.

 

Add Item - Images

  • Under the Images tab you will see all images that have been uploaded to My Drive that you have been given read access.
  • Drag and drop an Image to the desired location of the dashboard
  • If you do not have any images uploaded you can upload a new image using the Upload New Image option
    • Once selecting Upload new image you will be asked to select the directory you would like the image(s) uploaded to within My Drive.
    • After selecting a file location you will be shown the Upload screen  to then upload your image(s).

 

Add Item - Other (Labels and Dynamic Datapoints)

  • Under the Other tab you can add a Label, or Dynamic Datapoint.
  • Adding a label allows you to place text anywhere on the dashboard.
    • Drag and drop the label text to the dashboard.
    • Once added type the desired text for your label on the properties tab.
    • You also have the option to change the font name, size, style, alignment, and color for each label.
  • A Dynamic Datapoint allows you to add  a single value from one of your components to the dashboard.
    • Drag and drop the Dynamic Datapoint to your dashboard
    • You can manually enter the logic for the data point by selecting Use entered logic for datapoint, or you can select from one of your components.
    • When using component logic select a component and then select the row to use for the dynamic datapoint.
    • Basic logic allows you to base to total sample or total answering.
    • Value type allows you to choose between frequency, percent, mean, standard deviation, and standard error for the dynamic datapoint.
    • Once a dynamic datapoint has been added you can add text teeling the reader what the datapoint represents.
      • Under Properties - Text and Font Options <<value>> represents the datapoints value. You can add text before or after this value.
      • i.e. "There are <<value>> males that rated product A positive."
      • When the dashboard is ran the above example would show to the reader as "There are 500 males that rated product A positive."
      • A dynamic datapoint will automatically update as advanced or simple filters are adjusted.

 

"Hamburger" Menu

  • All dashboard items have a hamburger menu
  • The hamburger menu allows you to change how the each item overlays one another.
  • Bring to Front forces the selected item to be front of all other items.
  • Bring to Back forced the selected item to be behind all other items.
  • Bring Forward/Send Backward moves the selected item front or back of a single item on the dashboard.
  • Edit will take you to either Edit Crosstab or Edit Chart depending on the item selected.
  • Info displays the Name, Description. Last modified, and Owner of the selected item.
  • Remove removes the selected item.

 

Run Dashboard

Choose Run Dashboard to create your dashboard.

 

Back to Dashboards

Choose Back to Dashboards to return to the Dashboards dialog.
