Current WinCross Users

Q: How do I know if I'm a current WinCross user?

A: If you purchased WinCross within the past year or if you are enrolled in our WinCross annual maintenance program, you are a current user. If you are unsure, please contact us at sales@analyticalgroup.com.


Q: Do I need to pay a monthly fee if I am a current WinCross user?

A: No, as a current WinCross user, you have access to the WinCross Executive Basic Edition which allows you to share files with your clients, use the Express Tabs module, and view and edit data.

For a low monthly fee, you can subscribe to the WinCross Executive Premium Edition which allows you full online access to crosstabs, reports, charts and dashboards, as well as sharing WinCross jobs with your clients.


Q: Do I need to reprogram my WinCross job for WinCross Executive?

A: No, you select "Export Job to WinCross Executive" on the WinCross File menu to export files to use in WinCross Executive. In WinCross Executive, you then upload these files.


Q: Does WinCross Executive replace WinCross Runtime?

A: Yes, it does, however, WinCross Executive has many more features than Runtime. The WinCross Executive Premium Edition allows you to share your WinCross project with your customers. You choose what you would like to share via a private link you create for them.


Q: Does WinCross Executive support multiple languages?

A: Yes, WinCross Executive supports Unicode text.


Q: How do I create a private link for my client?

A: You select "Create Private Link" on the Crosstabs, Charts, Reports, or Dashboard menus. You will then be stepped through the process.


Q: How long will my private link be available for my client?

A: You set the expiration date.


Q: Is the private link secure?

A: Yes, you can password protect it.


Q: What data file types can I upload to WinCross Executive?

A: You can upload *.sav files, *.xlsx files, and *.csv files to WinCross Executive.


Q: After uploading my *.sav file, are my variable labels and value labels usable in WinCross Executive?

A: Yes.


Q: Can the crosstabs, charts, reports and dashboards be downloaded?

A: Yes, you export to Excel or PDF.


Q: Will all of my WinCross job file export to WinCross Executive?

A: No, some of the more advanced WinCross features such as Indexing and CALC statements are not supported at this time.

Q: Do I need to be a current WinCross user to subscribe to WinCross Executive?

A: No, for a low monthly fee you can subscribe to the WinCross Executive Premium Edition.


Q: How would I use WinCross Executive if I'm not a current WinCross user?

A: You would upload your data files and use the interface to create crosstabs, charts, reports, and dashboards.


Q: What data file types can I upload to WinCross Executive?

A: You can upload *.sav files, *.xlsx files, and *.csv files to WinCross Executive.

A: Yes. WinCross Executive can run multiple datasets within a single dashboard.
